How do you get a Kuva Lich?

During a mission, a regular Grineer enemy can turn into a Larvling (a screen message announces it). Damage it without finishing it off: it flees and becomes your personal Kuva Lich, with a random weapon and element.

How do you find your Lich's element?

The element (and the Requiem mods to avoid) shows directly on the Lich's card in the Vanquish menu, deduced automatically from clues gathered from its Thralls — no need to guess blind.

Should you kill or convert your Lich?

Killing it gives a chance at its ephemera (a cosmetic visual effect) and gets you the weapon immediately. Converting turns it into an ally who fights alongside you on request, with no ephemera and no usable weapon right away.

Kuva Lich: weapon, element, and how to get rid of it

A Kuva Lich spawns when you damage a Larvling (a Grineer enemy that transforms mid-mission) without finishing it off: it flees and becomes your personal nemesis, with a random Kuva weapon and element. Good news: you don't need to guess its weakness blind.

Finding the element and mods to avoid

Every Kuva Siphon or Kuva Flood mission has you kill your Lich's Thralls: each one reveals a clue that rules out one candidate Requiem mod. After enough clues, your Vanquish card directly shows the Lich's element and which mods NOT to use — you just need to find the right order of the remaining 3 mods by elimination during the final showdown.

The Requiem mods

There are 8 Requiem mods (Netra, Ris, Vome, Khra, Xata, Jahu, Oull, Lohk), obtained by opening Requiem relics. Each Lich is vulnerable to exactly 3 of them, in a specific order, equipped on your Parazon. Oull is the exception: it's a wildcard that replaces any of the 8 symbols — handy if your collection is incomplete.

During the fight: avoid its element

Your Lich's weapon carries one of the classic damage elements. Using that same element on it heals it instead of hurting it — check the element shown on its card and adjust your weapon (or temporarily remove the matching elemental mod) before the confrontation.

Kill or convert?

Killing gets you the weapon immediately, with a chance at the Lich's ephemera (a cosmetic effect unique to each theme).
Converting turns the Lich into an ally who joins you on request in missions. No ephemera, and the weapon isn't usable right away.

Get the mod combo wrong and the Lich flees with extra health/damage (and permanently rules out one Requiem symbol for itself) — no big deal, just run another Siphon/Flood mission to keep narrowing it down.

What about Sisters of Parvos?

The Sisters of Parvos system (Corpus) works identically, but grants Tenet weapons instead of Kuva ones. Everything above (clues, Requiem mods, kill/convert) applies the same way. Don't confuse this with Coda weapons: despite the similar-sounding searches, it's NOT a Lich system — they're bought directly from a merchant, no hunting involved.
