Iceblade of Narin (Update 44) — everything the update brings
Iceblade of Narin (Update 44) has been live since September 23, 2026. Announced at TennoCon 2026, it adds the Narin Warframe and her two weapons, the Banshee rework (free on login until October 7), Citrine Prime, Riven trait locking, new Zariman content and a batch of quality-of-life changes — including Weak Point standardization.
The 30-second version
- Narin: an ice fencer who fights up close, building Ice with her abilities to unleash a sword-dance ultimate. Blueprints from the Zariman or Cephalon Melica.
- Two signature weapons: the Nunchasa bow and the Aksondol pistols, both built around Cold.
- Banshee rework: no base ability roots her anymore, armor strip built into Sonic Boom, Sonar now works with Weak Point bonuses. Banshee + a Forma free on login from 9/23 to 10/7.
- Citrine Prime with Steflos Prime and Corufell Prime; Xaku, Quassus and Trumna Prime enter the Vault.
- Rivens: lock one stat while cycling (double Kuva). Stat splicing follows with the Glacial Defiance mode.
Narin, the iceblade
Narin plays up close: every ability that lands fills her Ice gauge, and her 4 needs a full gauge. She refills her shields by absorbing the Cold she applied, then shatters frozen enemies for big explosions.
Passive — Sangodae: each Cold status stack on an enemy adds 1% chance to spawn a Sangodae pickup, granting Cold damage to Primary and Secondary weapons for 10s. Her abilities also gain Cold damage.
Lunge with her ice rapier: Cold and Puncture damage and status on enemies ahead. This is her Helminth ability.
Absorb Cold status from nearby enemies to recover shields; at full shields she gains Overguard.
Tap to leap, tap again to land on target: Cold vulnerability and Cold status in a large radius. Also her Railjack ability.
❄️ 4 · Nurinarim
Requires a full Ice gauge. An ancestral spirit descends on Narin, who sword-dances for continuous damage around her. Press Attack on marked targets to launch slashes that strip armor and shields; hitting a frozen enemy makes it explode for massive area Cold damage.
How to get her: main and component blueprints from the Zariman drop tables, or from Cephalon Melica at Yuvan Peak for Entropic Kuva — only dropped by the new Entropic Eximus in the Zariman. Also sold in the Market. With her, the maximum number of Loadout slots goes from 34 to 35.
Her weapons: the Nunchasa bow (its charged alt fire freezes enemies it touches and leaves a chilling path) and the Aksondol pistols (reloading releases a freezing mist that applies Cold, wider the more rounds you reload). Blueprints from Melica for Entropic Kuva.
The Banshee rework
Digital Extremes' goal: keep her lethality (Sonar remains a huge damage multiplier) while making the kit fluid. The most visible change: no ability roots her anymore, except the channeled Gaseous Quake augment.

Renamed augments: Sonic Fracture becomes Sonic Siphon (Banshee gains armor for 20s per enemy hit, up to 1,500); Resonating Quake becomes Gaseous Quake, taking over the old channeled Sound Quake (rooted, Gas damage ramping up every second, as does energy drain). Resonance and Savage Silence are unchanged; Savage Silence can now get an Atragraph style.

Citrine Prime Access
Citrine Prime comes with two Prime weapons: the Steflos Prime shotgun (longer reach) and the Corufell Prime Archwing weapon (faster heavy attacks), plus the Sphatika Prime syandana, the Alumeti Prime sugatra and Operator accessories. Everything can also be farmed from relics: check the Citrine Prime set, Steflos Prime and Corufell Prime prices.
Entering the Prime Vault: Xaku Prime, Quassus Prime and Trumna Prime. Their relics stop dropping — often when prices start climbing.
Rivens: trait locking
While cycling a Riven, a “Lock Trait” button freezes one stat. The lock is free and removable, but each cycle costs double Kuva, and the number of positive and negative stats stays fixed. It must be set again every time you open the menu. Riven Splicing, which merges two stats into one, comes with the Glacial Defiance mode, where Riven Splicers are earned. Riven dispositions were also updated, as with every Prime Access.

FAQ
How do I get Narin?
Three ways: her blueprints drop in Zariman missions; you can also trade for them with Cephalon Melica (Yuvan Peak) using Entropic Kuva, dropped only by the new Entropic Eximus in the Zariman; or buy her from the Market. Her Nunchasa and Aksondol weapons come from Melica the same way.
Is Banshee free?
Yes: log in between September 23 and October 7, 2026 to receive Banshee and one built Forma. Once that inbox expires, the Forma can still be claimed on login until December 31, 2026 (if you had not received Banshee).
What changes for Banshee?
None of her base abilities root her anymore, Sonic Boom now strips armor (70%, up to 100% with Ability Strength), Sonar's weak spots become true Weak Points (working with mods and arcanes), and Sound Quake becomes a 25-second area instead of a channel. Two augments are renamed: Sonic Fracture → Sonic Siphon, Resonating Quake → Gaseous Quake.
What is in Citrine Prime Access?
Citrine Prime, the Steflos Prime shotgun, the Corufell Prime Archwing weapon and Prime accessories. Everything can also be farmed from relics. Xaku Prime, Quassus Prime and Trumna Prime enter the Prime Vault.
What is Riven trait locking?
While cycling a Riven you can lock one stat so it stays. It is free, but cycling then costs double Kuva and the number of positive/negative stats stays fixed. The lock is cleared when you close the menu. Riven Splicing (merging two stats) comes with Glacial Defiance.
